From Ramadan to Real Life - Holding Onto Your Wellness Wins
Bismillah. Alhamdulillah
You just completed Ramadan.
You fasted through long days, stayed up for nights of worship, prepared meals, cared for your family, showed up in your deen, increase in your du’as, increased in your dhikr and still somehow kept going even when your body said "I’m shattered."
And now that the month has passed, there’s one powerful truth I want you to hold onto:
You are capable of more than you think.
Ramadan stretched you, refined you, reminded you of your strength. Not just spiritually, but physically and mentally too. You pushed past comfort and leaned into your potential. You proved to yourself that you can stay consistent, that you can commit to better habits. Even in exhaustion, you gave your all.
So the real question now is… what will you do with all that strength you just discovered?
Don’t Let the Momentum Die with the Moon
It’s easy to think that now Ramadan is over, we go back to “normal.”!!!!
But what is normal, really? Is it running on empty, saying “I’ll start again next week,” or putting your own wellbeing at the bottom of the list? Or leaving the Qur’an on the shelve for days without picking it up or even letting the shaytarn pin us down the entire week without waking up even once for Qiyymul layl?
You don’t need to go back.
Because the truth is, what you did in Ramadan wasn’t temporary. It was a glimpse into what’s possible for you. You nourished your soul, and maybe without realising it, you were also nourishing your mind and body.
You cut out distractions. You prioritised your routine. You simplified your meals. You got intentional with your time.
That’s the formula for wellness. Physical, mental, and spiritual.
You just lived it…….Now you get to extend it.
Your Health is a Blessing. Don’t Treat It Like a Burden.
Sometimes we think taking care of our health is selfish. Or too hard. Or just another task on the list.
But your body?
It’s the vessel Allah subhana wata alaa gave you to walk through this life.
To serve your family.
To stand in salah.
To bow in rukoo’.
To rise in the morning and raise your hands in du’a.
Taking care of it is worship.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) health and free time." (Bukhari)
So what if you stopped viewing health as an overwhelming checklist and started seeing it as a daily gratitude practice?
So Sis, Start Here. Start Small. But Start Now.
You don’t need a big plan. You just need one decision today to build on the woman you were in Ramadan.
Here are 4 simple ways to begin:
Pick one habit from Ramadan and keep it going.
Maybe it’s mindful eating. Or drinking more water. Or starting your day with Qur’an.Move your body, even for 10 minutes.
Salah is already movement. Add some light stretches or a body weight exercise or add some small dumbells and let your body thank you.Nourish, don’t restrict.
Choose food that fuels your energy and brings you barakah, not guilt. Think whole, simple, Sunnah-aligned.Don’t go it alone.
Whether it’s our Muslimah Wellness Membership, a consultation call, or the Just Move App, find support that keeps you going, even when motivation fades.
You Were Built for Consistency. Ramadan Proved That. Sis, you’ve already shown what you’re capable of. Don’t let self-doubt steal that from you now. Keep nurturing your mind, body, and soul. Keep showing up, even if it’s in quiet, unglamorous ways. This journey isn’t about perfection. It’s about intention.
And Allah sees every bit of effort you make.
So today, choose one thing. One step. One Sunnah habit. And commit to honoring the blessing of your health, just as you honored the days and nights of Ramadan.
You did it, Sis. And now…You keep going.
